Contest Rules

  • Submissions are accepted from youth ages 12-25 in any art medium including but not limited to film, visual art, original music, narrative, poetry and more. Not old enough? Have your parent contact us and we can make an exception.
  • Video PSAs must include a title slide and the required Hope & Justice end slate or Hope & Justice end slate (vertical) for TikToks.
  • Any elements in your film or art, including but without limitation to music, audio, stills, video, supers or other audiovisual materials used must be entirely original, created and performed by the entrant and/or participants; or be in the public domain or purchased/released. Learn more here.
  • Submissions are due at midnight of the last day of the month and winners will be announced by the 15th of the following month and shared via social media and on the website.
  • Participants are eligible to submit multiple entries per month. Prizes include: First place ($300), Second Place ($150), Third Place ($100), and Honorable Mention ($25) in Amazon gift cards. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and the Directing Change Team.
  • In addition, all film entries received prior to March 1, 2023 will also compete in the statewide Hope and Justice category. All art pieces submitted will be reviewed for a chance to be featured on the Hope and Justice Art Gallery and recognized during special events.
